Homecoming

Homecoming week is over with so I finally get my daughter and my house back. It is such a crazy time for Megan with student council. Besides building a float, planning and executing the Pep Assembly, teaching a dance to "The Boy cheerleaders" and all the other activity that surrounds this week, Megan is supposed to actually attend her classes and do homework. I was able to attend the Pep assembly this week and they did a great job. Mike and I went to the football game with Jeanne and George Gladden Friday night, which was really fun. Megan's friends come over on Saturday to get ready for the dance, Maria did an AMAZING job on their makeup! After the dance, they came back to the house for the "afterparty" and at around 4am the boys left and they finally got to sleep. Hannah went to the dance and a party and I picked her up at 1:00am. She hung with the group until the end. Needless to say we all slept in today!

GLEE - Teaser: Single Ladies

Hannah turns 15!

Can you believe that Hannah is 15 years old? I can not. Her birthday this year was a tad busy as she had school and a volleyball game. After the game (which she won) we took her and Kaila out to Top Shelf for dinner and then home to open the few presents that she had. Hannah chose to go shopping for her birthday so we are off to the mall today to pick out what she would like. Her friends decorated her locker and she had enough cake, cookies and candy to last her for some time. Next weekend her and Kaila are celebrating with a party at the house for their joint birthday month with 35 to 40 friends over. I thought I was good about stretching my birthday out for the month but she is so much better!

Mia is finally here!

We have a new family member! Mia Leanne Kerger arrived on Monday, September 21st at 7 lbs 15 ounces and cute as can be. Katie was such a trooper as she went into labor Saturday night and finally had Mia on Monday morning. Hannah and I went to the hospital and waited with Karen, Dain, Emily,Bryon and Calvin, Nick's family, Mom and Dad and of course Nancy, Kevin and George. We were quite the group and at about 9:00 pm, I took Hannah home so she could get some sleep and went back so I could be there when Mia finally arrived. She is darling and looks so much like Megan did as a baby. Calvin looks so big now and looks a lot like Emily ( to me at least). He is such a easy baby and was so good during a really long day of being passed around.
I know that I am super behind as usual on the blog postings; but life seems to be moving too fast and I can not seem to catch up. Mike, Hannah and I took Megan up to NAU to visit her friend Allison. Megan completely fell in love with the NAU campus and had an amazing time with Allison. After dropping Megan off, we drove around downtown, took some really cool pictures of some old signs and building, had lunch at Oregano's and then headed home as a storm rolled in. Super nice day and nice to spend some time with Mike and Hannah.

Rest and Relaxation

How does a week go by so fast? Mike is on the mend and planning to go to work tomorrow. He is off the pain pills and trying to use the shoulder more. We will see how he feels in the morning, but as of now it looks like he is ready to go back. The girls go back to school after enjoying a three day weekend for Labor day. They had a very social weekend and we did not get to spend a lot of time together during my vacation. I go back to work on Wednesday and have a lot to do tomorrow to get ready for my meeting on Thursday. Ironwood had their first pep assembly on Friday and by the looks of the pictures, it was a success. Hannah has a volleyball game at home on Thursday at 4:00pm this week and I will get the schedule out asap. I know that she really enjoyed all of the support that she received for her first game!

Hannah Volleyball

Ironwood freshman won their match against Horizon freshman in a hard fought three game match. Hannah is getting better and better in the position of setter and seems to be enjoying the new challenge. Unfortunately the JV and Varsity teams did not fair as well as the freshman. Mike went with me to the game and until the end he did well; when the pain medicine wore off he was ready to go home and hook back up his ice pack (super cool ice machine that he got from the doctor).

Home playing nurse

Mike had his surgery yesterday and is dong remarkably well. He had a bone spur removed, a tear in the tissue and arthritis removed and the Doctor is hopeful that he will have full use of the shoulder with no pain. He is feeling it more today and I have to get him out of the sling and get him to start moving the arm, thank god for pain killers! He has been a pretty easy patient as he really hates being waited on; but I am enjoying the nurse role for now. Off work until the 9th so planning on getting some things done around here and started by fumigating the girls rooms. OMG teenagers like to live in dirt.

Productive Weekend

Actually got some scrapbooking done this weekend and cleaned up my space as I combined/donated supplies that were stashed all over two rooms of the house. Once that was started I was actually ready to create something. Went over to Nancy's on Saturday after going to a few estate sales to see her new counter tops and see Calvin. He is so stinkin cute and so makes me what to have a little one around. The surprising thing is that the feeling passes quickly once I get home and ready for a nap! WW was a good weigh in, lost 3 lbs (the 1.5 that I gained the week prior and 1.5 more of good old fashioned hard work). Mike has his surgery on Wednesday this week so I am off until the 9th so I can play nurse maid. Also Hannah has her first Volleyball game on Tuesday at 4:00pm at Ironwood. Go Eagles!

Party at our house!

Megan and her student council friends were playing fugitive when a really bad storm hit on Friday night, just as I was going to call her and ask her to come home, she called to ask if they could come to the house instead. There were about 35 to 40 teenagers in the basement dancing, playing pool, ping pong and hanging out. When I came down stairs the room smelled like a gym! I was making cookies, so slowly they started to migrate upstairs until I looked over and the cookies were gone along with three bags of grapes and a ton of soda and water bottles. My first impression of this house is that it would be the perfect party house, and it really has lived up to my first impression.

Welcome to Calvin Bewely

Emily and Bryon had their baby on August 9th, a healthy baby boy that they named Calvin Eugene Bewely. He weighed 8lbs 3 ozs and 20 inches long. Emily did great and was up smiling right after he was born. Gotta love when the epidermal works! The girls were allowed to hold him minutes after he was born. On Sunday, the 16th, we took dinner over to the new family and got a chance to visit and hold him longer. What a miracle he is, the girls as so in love with him and really can not wait until Katie has her baby so they each have a baby to hold.

Emily and Katie Baby Shower

Nancy and Karen throw a great Baby shower for Baby Bewely and Baby Kerger. We ate, played LCR and watched them open their presents. The LCR game was won twice by Dad and Mom won the Diaper Drawing. I told them that I thought that they should be going to Vegas with their luck! I can not wait until the babies are here so I can babysit. Hopefully they will trust me with their children, maybe I sould not assume.

Hannah

Hannah got her braces off on Monday! She will actually smile now and show her teeth. She looks great and it was so worth having braces on for as long as she did.

Sunday weigh in

Stayed the same weight even though I ate what I should not have eaten! Did not have to give back my 10% charm Yipee!

Awesome Jessica Sprague class

Just finally started to do the class that Jessica Sprague offered to celebrate the 2n birthday of her site. What an amazing class and the videos as easy to follow along. If you have not already started, I highly recommend taking her classes as she is a great teacher and the projects are beautiful!

Volleyball Festival

What a great experience for Hannah! 7 days of playing volleyball with teams from all over the world and courts as far as you can see at the Convention Center. She had to be at the convention center every day by 7:00 which mean that we usually left by 6:16am. Long week but so worth it for her to have the playing time and the experience playing so many different levels of play.

Linda's Party or my Texas look

Yes that is Miss Queso Dip that you are seeing there along with Miss Frito Lay, Mr Congeniality and the winner for the Talent competition in lashes. We decided that we should dress up as Linda's new region in Texas and have her get used to Big Hair and lots of makeup :) Probably do not even look like this but we had a great time.

Back from CA

Great time in CA with the family. Too much sun, too much food, too much alcohol, not enough sleep and just the right amount of fun. It was good spending time with Ben and Lizzie and getting to know Brittney (Ben's girlfriend). Megan and Hannah loved her and can't wait to see her again.

Tuesdays Thoughts

Well 4 conference calls later, I am just now getting feeling back in my ears! What a day. Looking around on line, I found this picture and think that it will go on fridge!
July 1st I will have a new boss as Linda is relocating to Dallas in the wake of her position being eliminated. Well I am sorry to see it happen; but on the bright side she still has a job and will not have to relocate her family during her daughters senior year of high school.

Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads and future dads (Nick and Bryon) out there! I am very blessed to have a amazing dad. I am not only named ofter him (Dean hence the name Deanna) but I like to think that I also inherited his sense of humor, love for family and loyalty to those I love. Thanks Dad for being such a great dad and showing me what qualities to look for in my husband and father of my kids.

To Mike, thanks for being a good dad even though you as so outnumbered in the house. I appreciate the life lessons that you teach the girls. You might not think that they are listening and learning: but they really are I promise.

Weekend recap

Seems like I only update this blog on the weekends. not sure if that is because I can not get near the computer during the week as the girls are usually using it or I just get too busy with work and running the girls around.
Saw two movies this weekend:
The Proposal with Megan and Hannah on Friday and Year 1 with Mike on Saturday.
I LOVED the Proposal (will own) and like Year 1 (some funny lines and thought Michael Cera stole the show)
Rented Grand Torino and watched it with Mike on Saturday night and thought it was good, a tad disturbing but good.
Tried to get some scrapbooking done, lots of creative mess but not a lot accomplished!

Weekend Update

Megan taking pictures of herself in the bathroom mirror when she was supposed to be cleaning the bathroom and Hannah, Julia and Kelly "working " the Zia Volleyball car wash. Saturday was Howard's birthday so we invited Howard, Elisa and Zach over for dinner. Megan was having her G.N.I.(Girls Night Inn) in case you are not sure. They watched movies, ate and was supposed to do a spa night but they decided to go to Sonic instead. I worked on Saturday so Sunday was my relaxation day. Mike and I went to go see The Hangover, not a fan but everyone else seemed to think it was funny. So did not think it was good!

Sorry for the absence

WOW How does a week go by that fast? Oh wait I know and it is called work! I have been super busy with events this week and have my last one tomorrow. On the bright side; I have not had time to eat much so I should have a good weigh in at Weight Watchers on Sunday. Thanks for the comments on the blog Stacy and Emily! I appreciate them so I know that someone other me is looking at this blog. Stacy, hope the move went well and you are settled in, have I told you how much I LOVE the Wizard of OZ machine in the casino? Serious fun/addidication.

New York Trip

What a great girl trip to NY! We went to celebrate Karen's 50th birthday and really did have a great time. Katie and Lizzie were not able to go, but Dana was able to fly in from Hawaii and Emily came as well even though she is 7 month pregnant. Dana was trying to feel the baby move, but every time she felt Emily's belly, the baby stopped moving. We did a ton of walking, eating, saw 2 plays and jumped on and off the subway numerous times. Laughed a lot and really enjoyed hanging out with each other. Megan had two goals for the trip; buy a purse on Canal street and take a picture with a cute sailor. She was able to accomplish both as it was Fleet week in NY (not sure what that is? then you have to watch season 6 of Sex and the City). Looking at the pictures, I have decided that I need to get my fat a** back to the gym and really take WW serious. Seriously, I thought if I stood next to Emily than I would look thin; but it is hard to tell who is pregnant and who is not.

Hannah's Promotion

Hannah's promotion ceremony went really well! She did great on her memory speech and had a good time with her friends. After the ceremony, we had Top Shelf for dinner and she hung around with Matt, Julia, Megan and Kelsy. After the dinner, Hannah met up with Grace, Jolene, Kaila, Bryce and Louis for a movie but came over here instead and hung out. It was a crazy day with Grandma Fran's service, the lunch at Nacys and promotion but somehow it all worked out well. I am so coloring my hair today after seeing the pictures!
