New York Trip

What a great girl trip to NY! We went to celebrate Karen's 50th birthday and really did have a great time. Katie and Lizzie were not able to go, but Dana was able to fly in from Hawaii and Emily came as well even though she is 7 month pregnant. Dana was trying to feel the baby move, but every time she felt Emily's belly, the baby stopped moving. We did a ton of walking, eating, saw 2 plays and jumped on and off the subway numerous times. Laughed a lot and really enjoyed hanging out with each other. Megan had two goals for the trip; buy a purse on Canal street and take a picture with a cute sailor. She was able to accomplish both as it was Fleet week in NY (not sure what that is? then you have to watch season 6 of Sex and the City). Looking at the pictures, I have decided that I need to get my fat a** back to the gym and really take WW serious. Seriously, I thought if I stood next to Emily than I would look thin; but it is hard to tell who is pregnant and who is not.

Hannah's Promotion

Hannah's promotion ceremony went really well! She did great on her memory speech and had a good time with her friends. After the ceremony, we had Top Shelf for dinner and she hung around with Matt, Julia, Megan and Kelsy. After the dinner, Hannah met up with Grace, Jolene, Kaila, Bryce and Louis for a movie but came over here instead and hung out. It was a crazy day with Grandma Fran's service, the lunch at Nacys and promotion but somehow it all worked out well. I am so coloring my hair today after seeing the pictures!

Volleyball Festival

Final tournament with T.N.T, Hannah's volleyball team. This has been a great experience for her and a huge lesson for me to watch her play volleyball for club versus school or the YMCA. She learned a lot, made some great friends and will hopefully use the experience to grow as a player as well as being part of a team. I have enjoyed the girls and their families and it will be fun to watch the girls progress to High School and beyond.

Promotion Dance and Awards Ceremony

Hannah had her awards ceremony for Marshall Ranch on Friday morning. Hard to believe that she is promoting and moving on to high school when it seems like she just started kindergarten the other day. Such an exciting time for her and I am happy that she will have such great memories of her grade school years. I am really proud of her for being recognized as a leader, for athletics and her grades. I miss the teachers at Marshall Ranch, they have been a huge influence on Hannah and encouraged her to do her personal best at all times.
That night, Hannah had her promotion dance at the King's house. Their house was amazing and the backyard was decorated so beautiful. Megan said it was better than a prom and would love to get married there (no time soon I hope). Hannah had a good time and enjoyed hanging out with her friends and dancing.

Weekend Update

Saturday was a really full day! Went Estate shopping with Mom, Nancy and Karen. Lots of laughs and a few good finds. After we were done we met Emily, Katie, Hannah, Megan and Hannah's friend Kaila for lunch at Red Robin. Then I took mom to a movie and she choose to see Ghosts of Girlfriends Past which I liked and mom not so much! After a little rest, went to walmart and picked up dinner for Mike and I at Fridays and watched the movie Ghost Town with Mike, Megan and Brian. Seems to have a running theme of ghosts and romantic comedies, something to think about. Mother's day we are getting together at Karen's for lunch and some games. Nancy and her family are going back and forth to the hospital as the doctors have given Fran just a few days. This has been such a long journey for them, hope it brings them peace and closure. Planing on bringing the camera today (as usual) and will post pictures tonight.

Student Council

Megan had her Student Council banquet last night at Ironwood. She was officially passed the gavel (name engraved even) from Derek who was the Student Body President for this year and assumes the role of President for next year. As the Seniors prepare to leave, they give the other members presents to keep up the traditions of the council. Megan and Kelsie were presented the gift of dressing up and making a fool of themselves from Brandi and Janelle. Megan was super excited to have the costumes!

Week in review

Can not believe that April is finally over!! This month has been intense and not sure if my feet will ever recover. So looking forward to this weekend and not doing anything. Last weekend; Hannah had a volleyball tournament on Saturday and Saturday night she spent the night at Peoria Staduim for Relay for life. I was exhausted on Saturday and Sunday was all about relaxing and watching Seven Pounds on dvd. Good movie but a tad sad. The rest of the week was about working and looking forward to the month ending.
